Lenovo has released the IdeaPad Vibe, a work laptop designed to compete with the MacBook Neo. The new product starts at a similar $699 and comes in a wider range of color options. The Vibe will be available in 14-inch and 15-inch versions, equipped with AMD and Qualcomm processors. Lenovo has also promised to release an Intel-based model (possibly Wildcat Lake) later.

IdeaPad Vibe laptops are available in a weight range of 1.3 kg, depending on the configuration selected. The AMD version will be available with up to 32GB of RAM (updated at the same time), and the Qualcomm processor version will be available with up to 24GB. The AMD version also comes with a larger 65 Wh battery. The Qualcomm version comes with a 50 Wh battery. For both options, two M.2 slots for SSDs are stated. The stated specifications indicate the presence of up to 1 TB of permanent memory. The laptops will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon X and AMD Ryzen AI 400 processors.
The IdeaPad Vibe comes with a choice of 120Hz IPS display or OLED panel. However, the OLED option is only available on gray or blue models.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Vibe beats both the MacBook Neo and the Dell XPS 13 in the number of available external ports. The laptop offers two USB Type-A and Type-C (although they are both limited to 5 GB/s speeds), as well as HDMI, a headphone jack, and a microSD card slot.
As the processors announced by AMD and Qualcomm feature powerful built-in neural processing units (NPUs), Lenovo is promoting its artificial intelligence assistant Qira AI, which is also available on Motorola smartphones as part of the IdeaPad Vibe. However, the company notes that Qira AI will only be available as part of “certain configurations.”
Lenovo hasn’t revealed what the IdeaPad Vibe’s base memory configuration will look like. However, considering this laptop starts at $699, we’re likely talking about 8 GB of RAM.
The AMD-based version of the IdeaPad Vibe will be available first. Their sales will begin in October. The Snapdragon model will be available in November. The company is also promising Intel-based variants, but has yet to provide details.
