Lenovo has unveiled a concept for an ultra-thin AeroBlade laptop that uses a solid-state cooling system instead of traditional fans. This makes it possible to radically reduce size and eliminate noise while maintaining efficient heat dissipation.

Project AeroBlade is based on Flore Systems’ AirJet technology, which uses a piezoelectric membrane to pump air into the enclosure without the need for fans or other moving parts. As a result, the laptop remains actively cooled but runs nearly silently, just like the MacBook Air.
The AeroBlade’s dimensions are markedly different from modern Lenovo business laptops. The concept body is no more than 10 mm thick and weighs less than 830 grams. By comparison, the latest ThinkPad X1 Carbon model is about 14mm thick at its thickest point and weighs about 1kg.
AirJet technology has been around for many years and is being actively tested in the market.
