Double Fine Studios released the game Keeper in the fall of 2025, becoming the first full-fledged project created as part of Xbox. Meanwhile, the Double Fine team joined Microsoft in 2019. This spring, the studio released the multiplayer game Kiln. Now, months after parting ways with Xbox, they’ve announced the first of the new state of the art projects.
Double Fine launches Thank You Bus Driver, a bus driver simulator with comedy and absurd elements. The project will provide players with the opportunity to transport passengers around the city, comply with ever-changing rules, and adhere to schedules while dealing with violators.

The main character of the game is the driver, who has to follow new requirements at the bus stop every day. Rules can change at the most inopportune moments, and passengers who don’t follow established procedures can be “educated” by being beaten or kicked off the bus.

The main task is to reach the next stop on time. Double Fine points out that collisions with pedestrians, oncoming vehicles and obstacles are not as important as reaching the station before the allotted time is up. The gratitude system will play an important role in Thank You Bus Driver. The more times a passenger says “thank you” to a driver, the more extra time he has to complete his route.
Currently, Thank You Bus Driver is planned to be released only on PC. The project doesn’t have a release date, but it’s already appeared Steam page and debuted a trailer.
