Lexar launches Lexar Muse SSD, positioned as the world’s thinnest portable solid state drive. Its dimensions are 80 × 48 × 3.8 mm, with the outline narrowing to 1 mm at the edges.

For the Lexar Muse SSD, the company reportedly took a more sophisticated approach, combining the drive with an ultra-thin card design, a magnetic carrying case, and a Lexar PogoPin magnetic connection. These elements, along with the included magnetic SnapLink cable, create a more convenient and intuitive storage experience.
The drive is called “Muse,” which, according to the company, reflects the role it could play in creating creative inspiration. It is expected that it can be used to store photos and videos, edit and back them up on the go, and can also be taken with you when traveling.
Lexar Muse SSD offers read speeds of up to 1050 MB/s and write speeds of up to 1000 MB/s. The drive is compatible with iPhones, iPads, Macs, and other devices with USB-C connectors. On compatible iPhone models, it also supports smartphone recording of 4K Apple ProRes video at up to 120 fps.
Lexar Muse SSD comes in a full metal casing. A protective case with N52-grade neodymium magnets is available to secure the drive to the back of compatible MagSafe-enabled iPhone models.
Lexar Muse hard drives will be available next quarter in 512GB and 1TB capacities.
