Nintendo fans can look forward to some exciting events this week. The Japanese heritage company has officially announced that the show will be broadcast twice in a row over the next few days. It starts on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at 4:00 pm. German time, the special live broadcast lasts about 30 minutes and is designed to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the “Legend of Zelda” series. Just 24 hours later, at the same time on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, there will be a classic 45-minute Nintendo Direct.

The first presentation on Tuesday focused on a milestone birthday for Link’s adventure. Rumors have been swirling for months, and industry insiders believe a solid revelation within 30 minutes was inevitable. What fans are most looking forward to is the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo Switch 2, which is rumored to be released in 2026.

Recent retailer listings have also fueled speculation that Monolith Soft, the famed studio best known for the Xenoblade Chronicles series, could be heavily involved in the development of the new version. In addition to interesting reveals, fans of the series are also hoping to get the first moving images and information about the announced live-action Hollywood movie about the Zelda universe.

The regular anchor on the second day spent 45 minutes as usual, detailing the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 game portfolio in the fall and winter of 2026. Players can look forward to fresh content from previously released blockbusters as well as new first- and third-party games.

But that’s not all: Immediately after the main broadcast, Nintendo offered the community nearly two hours of gameplay in the form of “Nintendo Treehouse: Live.” During the 110 minutes, the developer showed off unedited gameplay and an in-depth analysis of the newly revealed game.

As usual, these broadcasts will be broadcast live worldwide on Nintendo’s official YouTube and Twitch channels.
