This past Game Week (August 29-September 5) was packed with events surrounding Game Pass. Not only did Microsoft announce new games for the service in September, it also announced upcoming changes to the subscription feature. All in our weekly roundup.
New games on Game Pass
Game Pass is adding a handful of new games this week:
- Young Suns (Xbox, PC) – Version 1.0 and released in Premium, previously released in Ultimate and PC
- Shelldiver (Xbox, PC) – Ultimate Edition, Advanced Edition, PC
- Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault (Xbox, уже была на PC) — Ultimate, PC
- SpeedRunners 2: Kings of Speed (Xbox, PC) — Ultimate Edition, PC
- Dice Million (Xbox, already on PC) – Ultimate, PC
This week’s major release could be called Shelldiver – the game was previously highly rated on Steam and is now available to play on Xbox, as well as on Game Pass.
September Game Pass Games
Microsoft this week announced its Game Pass product lineup for the first half of September. Excluding items that have already been added, we now know of the following games that will be added to the subscription this month:
- Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (Xbox, PC) – 8 сентября (Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, PC)

Games to be removed from Game Pass
It’s already known that the game will be exiting the Game Pass subscription on September 16th. There are many major versions in the manifest:
- Commandos: Origins (Xbox, PC)
- Cricket 24 (Xbox, PC)
- Cyberpunk 2077 (Xbox)
- Dead Cells (Xbox, PC)
- Deepstone Galaxy Survivors (Xbox, PC)
- Frostpunk 2 (PC)
- Mullet Maniac (Xbox, PC)
- Soul Ferryman (Xbox, PC)
- Overthreshold (Xbox, PC)
- Train Simulator World 5 (Xbox, PC)
Cyberpunk 2077 is arguably the biggest loss – the game was added to the service just six months ago, and they’re already preparing to remove it. Also looking like a big loss is the highly rated Dead Cells, which has been on Game Pass for several years.
Changes to Game Pass cloud gaming
Microsoft announced this week that starting in November 2026, the use of Xbox cloud games through Game Pass will be restricted:
- Ultimate Edition – 15 hours per month
- Premium – 10 hours per month
- Required – 5 hours per month
Additional watches can be purchased, but prices have not yet been announced. Note that the announcement prompted a flurry of criticism from players. However, these changes won’t affect all users immediately.
