Next week, September 12th and 13th, BlizzCon will take place. Blizzard events are back again after three years, and Xbox doesn’t shy away from preparing interesting announcements for players. Blizzard itself has been revealing some StarCraft news, and reporters are also anticipating the release of a shooter based on the series. But many of the studio’s other series will also be at BlizzCon.
Famous journalist Jez Corden on podcast Xbox 2 expressed his expectations for BlizzCon. It’s worth noting that these are his assumptions, not those of an insider:
- Major announcements for Warcraft. The reporter said he didn’t know if an Xbox console version would be released.
- Retro version of World of Warcraft classic. There have long been rumors that Blizzard might launch it to offer players classic graphics and gameplay.
- A shooting game based on StarCraft. Corden said it will be a co-op game with cross-platform support and won’t be an Xbox exclusive.
- To mark the anniversary, many classic Blizzard PC games are getting special attention…
- Heroes of the Storm News.
- There may be news about “Warcraft 3”.
- Surprisingly, Blizzard employees said on LinkedIn that this is an “unannounced project,” apparently not based on a well-known franchise.
- “Strike” update.
- Announcements of series or movies based on Blizzard franchises.
- Diablo IV news.
Let us recall that at the end of last year, against the backdrop of a general decline in Microsoft’s gaming business performance, Blizzard became the most successful Xbox studio.
