The latest report from the analysis company Niko Partners shows that China’s game market exceeded the US$50 billion mark for the first time in history, growing 5.4% to US$51.8 billion. Experts predict that revenue will further steadily grow to 53.9 billion this year and 59.8 billion by 2030.
The main drivers of growth are the successful launch of new games, the high popularity of long-term projects and the rapid development of the small games sector, which already accounts for nearly 20% of all mobile spending. In addition, electronic games have been officially included in China’s National Social and Economic Development Plan 2026-2030, highlighting its growing economic status. Among key technology and market trends, analysts highlighted the large-scale introduction of generative artificial intelligence in development, increased spending on high-end PC and console versions, and niche types of development.
