Amid the scandal surrounding the use of generative neural networks in taxi simulator Rideshare Stimulator, Saber Interactive’s creative director Tim Willits rushed to reassure a panicked community. In an interview with IGN at Gamescom 2026, an industry veteran emphasized that generative AI was not involved in any stages of production – be it voice acting, scripting or art – in upcoming action game Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine III.
Saber management raised concerns among players after publicly supporting the introduction of artificial intelligence into experimental projects (specifically voice acting and passenger lines in the Rideshare Stimulator sandbox), sparking rumors of neural networks replacing writers and artists in the studio’s main franchise. Willits explained that Saber makes a clear distinction between small experiments and large-scale flagships based on third-party IP. Not only is there no generated content for Starfighter 3, there is no generated content for the studio’s other major licensed games – Jurassic Park: Survival, The Walking Dead, Dino Hunter, Stuntman and the game based on John Wick.
An important factor is the status of the owners of the Warhammer universe. To protect intellectual property rights, Games Workshop has strict internal rules prohibiting the use of generative artificial intelligence in product development and marketing materials.
