The GeForce RTX 3060 is definitely not a graphics card that only uses PCIe slot power. However, this is the path chosen by SRhonyra, a company that created a specific version of NVIDIA GPUs capable of running No need for any additional power connector.
This model is called SRhonyra SR306D6LP12G1 and retains an important feature of the original RTX 3060: and 12 GB GDDR6 display. However, the rest of the board has been profoundly modified to reduce consumption and adapt it to particularly compact systems.
70-watt RTX 3060 without power connector
The card has Claimed TDP only 70 wattscompared to the power consumption of a regular GeForce RTX 3060 desktop computer, which is about 170 watts. Therefore, all energy required for operation is provided directly from the PCIe slot, eliminating the need for an external power connector.
The design is also designed for use with PCs with limited space: SR306D6LP12G1 un PCB thinis 174 mm long and occupies only one slot. In terms of connectivity, there is a DisplayPort 1.4 port and an HDMI 2.1. The GPU used is still a GA106, but with a claimed core frequency of 1320 MHz, energy limitations inevitably affect the chip’s behavior under load.
RTX 3060 GPU returns to market with higher cost than RTX 5050

A test posted on Bilibili shows how stringent the 70-watt limit is for GPUs designed to consume more. Under load, the card struggled to maintain frequencies above around 900 MHz. In the 3DMark Time Spy benchmark, the RTX 3060 scored 4,821 points. The traditional desktop RTX 3060 can generally achieve scores between 9,000 and 10,000 points in the same test.
So the results are pretty clear: this 70 watt version offers approx. The performance is half that of the regular RTX 3060while using the same graphics chip and maintaining 12 GB of memory. The test also detected hotspot temperatures exceeding 90°C. Some of the power consumption-related values displayed by GPU-Z are clearly incompatible with the physical limitations of the card, but based on what is reported in the film, this may be due to changes in the power detection system.
The significance of this particular RTX 3060 can first be seen in Systems that cannot install dual-slot cards Or connect an additional PCIe power cable. However, the compromise is obvious: the GA106 wafer must operate under energy constraints, which significantly reduces its potential.
SRhonyra SR306D6LP12G1 has appeared on Newegg Price $495.59. That’s definitely a high number for a card that performed well below the legacy RTX 3060 in available tests.
