Active Matter developers held another Q&A session with players to talk about the latest preparations for the release and answer the community’s most pressing questions.

Is the specific release date September 15th? Will the game be available on both consoles and Steam?

Due to the nature of the platforms, the game will not launch on these platforms at the same time, so stay tuned for news.

Will there be a patch released on September 15th, maybe related to the coordination cycle? If so, how would they work? Are there any changes compared to Cycle 1? Will we still be able to receive rewards from previous coordination cycles?

All old rewards will be claimed after September 15th. Yes, there will be an update on this day too.

Will there be cross-platform play between consoles and PC at launch? If so, how would it work, especially in terms of aim assist? Will XBOX players be able to play against PlayStation players in console-only lobbies, or will we be placed in a mixed lobby with PC players if we enable cross-platform play?

Yes, there will be cross-platform multiplayer at launch. You’ll be able to choose where to find players to compete with: only your platform, only the console, any platform. This will be confirmed on both sides and there will be different raid search queues. If you don’t want to play with players from other platforms, just select this option in settings.

Will there be servers in South America, Asia or Oceania at launch?

Server locations will be optimized and expanded to improve your gaming experience no matter where you are!

Will there be achievements on Steam and consoles at launch? Can you give a hint as to what they will be connected to?

Yes, they will. Not difficult, but fun. They will be tied to game mechanics as well as some secrets.

Won’t there be a global wipe when the game launches, and no major changes to the weapon meta?

No.

Have you managed to account for feedback on the controller controls for this version? Many had to make extensive changes to the controls to improve upon the June demo on XBOX.

We’ve taken into account the feedback we’ve received during Xbox beta, and we’ll continue to do so as the console becomes a mature platform.

I’ve seen gameplay videos of DLSS 5 being tested. Gaijin often uses the latest graphics and gaming technologies – any plans to support DLSS 5? The game already supports DLSS 4 and DirectX 12, so I’m very interested in what’s next.

We strive to introduce the most advanced technology, but that is not our purpose in itself, so we will not rush it.

Are there any plans to change the fact that the same modifications in different colors are treated as completely separate items? This is awkward to use and clutters the menus in Monolith and Replicator. Maybe make a submenu with color selection?

No, these are indeed different projects right now and we don’t want to make separate “skins” for them yet.

Is there a specific reason why some entire maps (such as Gigacrusher) are only available in public raids (PvPvE)? It’s understandable that certain conditions are tied to certain modes, but locking an entire area of the map into one mode turned off some of my friends who might otherwise be interested in the game.

We feel that some maps are not suitable for certain game modes. We will expand the areas we can explore.

Footsteps are still hard to hear, sometimes switching soldiers spawn without hearing any footsteps at all, making it difficult to hear other players even if they are close. Are you planning to solve this problem? Will player orientation sounds be improved for release?

We work with audio all the time, and sometimes fixing one thing breaks another. Sorry – we’ll make sure to make it cool.

The World War II weapons added in Dogorsk: Age of Conflict’s Overtime Raid have blueprints for replicators, but they cannot be moved outside of events, which don’t appear as often, and creating a new personal timeline will quickly delete them. Do you plan to add a contract (perhaps a hidden contract or a survey) to access them?

We’ll think about it.

Will the premium version get more benefits in the future? Some bonuses have been removed or become irrelevant. PvE raids are the same for everyone, with robot dogs and scout drones now requiring significant resources to replicate so no longer feel like perks.

Yes, absolutely.

When will we see the epicenter map?

Scientists still can’t pinpoint the epicenter of the event; whatever happened there caused too much disruption to the multiverse.

Are programs like ReShade allowed in Active Matter?

Anti-cheat may interpret this as an attempt to interfere with the game.

When will Active Matter have a Linux native launcher? Considering the game runs on Steam Deck and Linux using BattlEye, why is it still not there?

Once we’re sure other platforms are fine.

Are there plans to allow for a fully customizable weapons rack, rather than being tied to 10 slots for placing items around the Vault?

Yes, we like the way the shelter environment is received and we will improve its functionality.

Will there be the ability to cancel selected permanent boulder rewards, for example, if you accidentally clicked on the wrong reward before creating a new personal timeline?

Make wise choices before opening the stone door.

We love the hidden missions and secrets on the map. Will new secrets be added to old locations in future updates, or will these features only apply to the new map?

Yes, they will.

What inspired you to create this game?

We like realistic weapons and realistic environments. We love SCP monsters and mysteries. As long as it’s really fun, we want to keep it serious. We made this game for those who share these values.
