In a recent interview with WccfTech portal, the Aion 2 development team shared details about the project’s upcoming global release. Players outside of South Korea will be able to immediately feel the key quality of life (QoL) improvements introduced over time in the game, but they shouldn’t expect full consistency with the Korean version at launch.
Additionally, the developers have confirmed that a mobile version of the game will not be coming to global markets, and that the planned console version will be different from the PC version, making full cross-platform play unlikely.

In Korea, PvP is very popular, but in the West, players tend to prefer PvE. When it comes to future growth plans, what are your priorities?
Kim Namjoon (Game Producer): To be honest, we are seeing the same trend in Korea. There are far more players focused on PvE than PvP now than in the past.
In the early stages of development, we focused heavily on PvP. But after a year of running servers in Korea and Taiwan, we saw the trends among our users and decided to minimize forcing players into PvP if they didn’t want to. People can choose for themselves. If you want to participate, you can. If not, you don’t have to do this. This will also be our future development direction. I believe we need to find the right balance between PvP and PvE.
