Cerny believes his career is coming to an end, so the PS6 may be the last console he creates. These are his words.
So far, every new PlayStation hardware comes with Mark Cernythe Sony engineer responsible for generations of Japanese console architecture.
However maybe, PS6 it will be his latest creation.

Cerny explained in an interview with Game File that he is nearing the end of his career. For engineers, retirement is not far away because Cerny 62 years old.
According to current estimates, the arrival of the PS6 is still a few years away, so it seems unlikely that Cerny will stay at this point. Can also handle PS7. Granted, he claims he’s “not done yet,” but it’s unlikely Cerny will still be active in a decade.

Let us remember who Cerny was System Architect for PS Vita, PS4 and PS5but he worked at Sony for decades. He has also worked on games such as Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, Resistance: Fall of Man, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, and most recently, Ratchet & Clank: Rift.
Additionally, Mark Cerny and Geoff Keighley founded Nova Games, a foundation for young developers, so it’s likely Cerny’s goal is to push Sony aside and launch this type of new business.
