SteelSeries has announced the Aeon Pro wireless controller for Xbox and PC. This model is positioned as professional. It comes with a docking station, additional buttons, an OLED display, and other features. The Aeon Pro’s main feature is the QuickSwitch system, which allows you to connect the controller to Xbox, PC, and mobile devices without having to re-pair it.
The main features of SteelSeries Aeon Pro that the manufacturer will highlight:
- Quickly switch between Xbox, PC and mobile devices. Allows you to quickly change active devices without having to re-pair, reconnect or rearrange cables. For Xbox and PC, switch between automatic or manual using a full docking station and a separate USB-C connection. The controller itself communicates with the docking station via a wireless connection. Provides Bluetooth connectivity for mobile devices. SteelSeries says the system is the first controller of its kind to switch between PC and Xbox, noting that the technology is patented.
- Infinite battery system. The kit includes 2 replaceable batteries, each providing approximately 12 hours of operating time. One is for the controller and the second can be charged in the docking station. The batteries are also compatible with the company’s other gaming controller models – Arctis Nova Pro, Nova Pro Omni and Nova Elite.
- Multifunctional docking station. Not just for charging. It also stores replacement wand accessories and helps organize your workspace.
- OLED smart display. The small screen sits directly on the controller, allowing you to switch devices, select profiles, reassign buttons and check battery power. You can also use it to configure various settings and game presets.
- Set via SteelSeries GG. Branded apps. Users can customize buttons and triggers, change the stick dead zone, adjust vibration intensity, and create profiles to store settings.
- Stick with Hall sensors. Stick drift issues should be eliminated. Sensitivity and deadband can be further calibrated via SteelSeries GG.
- 18 mechanical switches. All major controls use mechanical switches rather than traditional membranes. Each one has a lifespan of millions of clicks.
- 2 trigger modes. Trigger support switches between normal full travel and short travel (relevant to the shooter).
- 4 additional back buttons. The reverse side has components P1, P2, P3 and P4. You can assign any action to them.
- Modular rod system. The kit includes options in different shapes and heights – concave, convex, standard and extended options.
