Boox presented an e-book called Picco at IFA 2026 in Berlin. Its main advantage is its compact size – the device can easily fit in your pocket. The gadget reportedly costs around $100 9 to 5 google.

In recent years, Boox has released devices running Google’s Android operating system, allowing the installation of third-party apps such as Google Play Books and Amazon Kindle. The Boox Picco, launched in November, does not have this option. Manufacturers rely on tiny sizes—screens less than 4 inches diagonally. Of course, if the user is happy with the small screen, the device is great for travel. The e-book attracted attention at the show, and it was well-deserved – it also features a thin and light body and an adjustable backlight that can be read at any time of the day. The body has customizable buttons and page turning rockers.
The lack of an Android operating system greatly limits the functionality of the device – many apps provide access to third-party libraries, but in this case you will have to settle for Boox directories and EPUB files. Boox Picco comes with an app for transferring files from your smartphone – you’ll have to find them yourself. It seems appropriate for a gadget of this format to support a MagSafe magnetic mount and Qi2.2 charging standard so that it can be placed on the back of a smartphone, but you shouldn’t count on that either.
All the simplicity is made up for by the convenience of the compact e-book in your hand. The Boox Picco will cost about $100, and the device will be available in November.
