Valve gets revenue from every game sold on Steam. The more successful a third-party publisher’s project is on the platform, the more revenue Valve will receive from it. Analysts estimate the company has made about $15 billion in revenue on Steam since the start of 2026, with Forza Horizon 6 becoming the most profitable new game. Such an estimate Led by analytics firm Alinea Analytics.
According to analysts, the most successful new products on Steam in 2026 in terms of Valve revenue are:
- “Forza Horizon 6” – Revenue approximately $210.5 million.
- Crimson Desert – brought in approximately $203.3 million.
- “Resident Evil Requiem” – Earned approximately $200.9 million.
Alinea Analytics analyst Rhys Elliott pointed out that the six most profitable new releases in 2026 will bring Valve a total of about $1 billion in revenue. This represents only 6.6% of Steam’s total revenue of $15 billion for the year. If we expand the sample to the 100 most profitable new releases, their combined contribution would reach $2.4 billion, or 15.9% of Steam’s 2026 revenue.

Analysts expect that the list of the most profitable new products may change in the coming months, given that Gears of War: E-Day, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and Phantom Zero Blade are scheduled to be released in the fall.
Microsoft itself has yet to announce sales results for Forza Horizon 6, but Asha Sharma called the game “excellent.” Meanwhile, the project remains a console exclusive for Xbox Series X|S and insiders say it won’t launch on Playstation 5 until 2027.
