Ubisoft has surprisingly decided to stop forcing the use of its own PC launcher when launching games via Steam. The first project being tested for the new system, called Ubisoft Connect Services, is the action-adventure game Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.
The main change is that players no longer need to install or execute a separate Ubisoft Connect application. At the same time, all the key features of the ecosystem are retained: cross-progression, cross-play, reward systems, challenges and safety tools.
In the future, the company plans to gradually expand this seamless integration to other games on Valve services, which has caused an extremely positive response from the gaming community.
