Bandai Namco has launched the mini-series HOUR ZERO, a prequel to the upcoming arcade flight simulator ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE. The project will be a prequel to the game and will tell the events before the main story begins. The series will be released in four episodes starting on September 15, with the final installment arriving shortly before the game’s release, which is expected to be released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on October 2.
“Zero Hour” stars Josh Holloway, known for “Lost” and “Yellowstone,” as well as Brandon Routh of “Superman Returns” and Cobra Kai’s Tamlyn Tomita. The story is told in reverse order, telling how the lives of three people changed after the war broke out between the Republic of Sotoa and the Federation of Central Usia.
Holloway plays a pilot with nowhere to land, Ruth is a doctor who saves the life of an enemy, and Tomita is a TV host who falls silent after trying to tell the truth. Their story builds up to the beginning of the invasion and takes viewers into the events of ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE’s story campaign.
The game itself takes place in the fictional world of Strangerelle. The Central Usia Federation has been occupied by the Republic of Sotoa, its army has been defeated, and the remaining forces are trying to organize resistance. The protagonist is named “Wings of Teva” and becomes a symbol of hope for the residents of the Teva capital. He must return to his homeland with three pilots from his squadron.
