Bulat Gaineev, a Russian developer from Tatarstan, has officially announced the launch of a sci-fi city planning simulator called XIRI: Oasis City. The game is being developed for PC (steam), but the specific release date has not yet been revealed.
XIRI: Oasis City is a city-building simulator with survival elements set in a high-tech world after the collapse of global civilization. Players will manage a city whose existence depends on the stability of its infrastructure, its population, and its ability to withstand external threats. The development of settlements requires the organization of production, energy and the protection of key facilities, while cities have at their disposal people, robots and drones with various functions. Natural disasters such as earthquakes, sandstorms, tornadoes, and thunderstorms can cause damage to urban systems, so it is necessary to establish protective structures in advance and maintain backup mechanisms.
The economic and political development of a city is closely linked to entrepreneurial activity and relations with neighboring communities. As they grow, they become independent centers of influence capable of influencing markets, foreign relations, and regional security. Players can grow companies through privatization and education, enter into trade agreements, grant loans, form supply routes, and use espionage, disinformation, and cyberattacks. Each intervention has the potential to alter the balance of power and trigger reactions, so managing a city involves not only construction and resource allocation but also political and economic decision-making.
