Microsoft may be preparing to announce a new part of Wolfenstein at the Tokyo Game Show on September 17th. The rumor started when Xbox strategy director Matthew Ball showed off a photo of the series’ iconic mechanical dog, Panzerhund, in front of Bethesda headquarters.
The photo itself does not confirm the announcement and could be a regular work trip photo. However, what caught the attention of fans is that Wolfenstein developer MachineGames has not released a new game since the launch of Raiders of the Lost Ark and the Great Circle two years ago.
Additionally, earlier this year, MachineGames head Jerk Gustafsson confirmed that the studio still intends to return to the series and complete the planned trilogy. However, he refused to reveal a specific timeline, only stating that the sequel could come now or later.
