Path of Exile will host four qualifiers in September, with winners entering the ExileCon competition in November. In Act Five, participants must be the first to kill Kitava, making mistakes particularly costly.
The tournament will be played on PC in standard single-player Homemade mode, with a fixed seed. It’s not hardcore, but death can still be a serious hindrance: after death, the character cannot move for a minute. The selection will be held on September 3, 10, 17 and 24 at 23:00 Moscow time. To join, simply select a match via the “Join” button on the character creation screen, but it’s best to join in advance – all players will start at the same time.
The winner of each stage will receive flights to Auckland, accommodation during ExileCon, an Ultra VIP ticket, and a spot in the main stage finals of Path of Exile 1. In addition, you can choose one of four exclusive armors: Lightning Strike Armor, Engineer Armor, Crystal Armor, or Demonic Stygian Armor. A player cannot qualify for multiple tournaments at the same time.
There is also a mandatory condition: Contestants must link their Path of Exile account to Twitch and live stream the entire match. The interface cannot be closed, and the on-demand video must remain in the published state. All four games will be broadcast on the official Path of Exile Twitch channel, with commentary by ZiggyD and RaizQT.
