Unlike traditional taming games, open-world survival simulator Wild Wild Eden encourages you to treat your pets not as expendable items, but as loyal friends and family. The game promises massive freedom of action, an 80-100 hour long story campaign, a complex monster selection system, and multiplayer for 20+ people.
At the last Gamescom 2026 exhibition, foreign portal websites nichegamer.com We interviewed Masai Iwata, the head of the marketing department for the project, and we prepared a detailed summary of the talking points.
- Wild Wild Eden offers a massive open world with the highest freedom of movement, and the developers have compared it to projects like Ark: Survival Evolved and Palworld. As the leader of a tribe, players will embark on an epic journey across five different continents, each representing a unique kingdom and its own final boss. In addition to the main continents, underwater seas and vast celestial spaces are also available for exploration, hiding rare objects and unknown secrets. The story campaign takes approximately 80 to 100 hours to complete, and its main goal is to systematically explore the areas, complete dungeons, and defeat bosses, but that’s only a small part of the overall gaming experience.
- The system for taming and raising monsters is very in-depth, offering players not only upgrades to their traits but also complex, multi-layered species options. Each of the five continents has unique climate and natural features. For example, volcanic fields are closely associated with fire, and aquatic biomes are home to corresponding organisms, which affects the characteristics of the organisms that live there. Players can cross-breed different regions of the same monster, such as Fire Kamoa and Water Kamoa, to produce extremely rare offspring with unique traits, appearances, and unexpected benefits. Additionally, the system allows you to move across completely different types of creatures, which ultimately gives you access to hundreds of unique monsters with all-new abilities.

- The developers paid great attention to the personality of each monster, giving them unique personality traits and complex needs that go beyond a simple set of traits. After capturing a creature in the wild, the player must build a suitable room for it and create the most comfortable living environment directly in his settlement. The virtual pet will often feel hungry and need high-quality food and a comfortable place to sleep. It will also develop a deep emotional attachment to the player and happily greet him when he comes home. The improvement of basic indicators such as strength, endurance, defense, and health naturally occurs in joint battles with bosses, but the semantic basis of interaction is still caring and building a warm and trusting relationship with each companion.
- Unlike many similar creature-collecting games, Wild Wild Eden allows players to choose to play the entire game with a favorite companion. There is also a complex social interaction system between the monsters in the camp, and they can form friendly or outright hostile relationships with each other. For example, a common pig and a kamoa might dislike each other very much, while another pair of creatures will become inseparable, adding an element of unpredictability to daily life at the base. The player, as the leader of the settlement, must closely monitor these relationships and continually maintain peace and harmony among all residents forced to coexist in the same territory.
- Monsters play a key role not only in combat, but also in exploring the world and ensuring the day-to-day functioning of the settlement, for which they possess a variety of useful skills. Agile creatures like Kamoa are great for riding horses and traveling across continents quickly, and they can literally save lives when suddenly attacked by deadly foes like wild dragons. Other animals focus on maintaining the economy: tamed chickens and roosters will continue to lay eggs, providing a reliable food supply for the tribe. Additionally, there are powerful flying monsters that can be ridden to reach hidden sky locations and mine rare resources, so players will need to carefully choose a team of companions to suit their current play style and goals.

- The multiplayer mode is designed for 20+ people to play comfortably at the same time, becomes especially important after the main story campaign is completed, and offers huge replayability potential. As part of multiplayer, players will be able to team up with friends to complete complex joint missions, with each participant assigned their own role and specific areas of responsibility. These massive co-op challenges can include lengthy battles against powerful dragons, cooperative hunts for ultra-rare monster eggs, and other team challenges that require teamwork. The developers are also actively planning to introduce a fully free exchange of items between players, which will further strengthen the social and economic aspects of the game community.
- The decision to release the game in early access was driven by the author and the gaming community’s sincere desire to create a mechanism for users to develop real affection and love for their virtual pets. Based on feedback from players who want to see the natural habits of real-life pets, such as dogs, in their monsters, the developers are constantly improving the creatures’ behavioral patterns and facial animations. The team is also currently openly discussing with the community the controversial idea of introducing limited lifespans for monsters, which could add powerful drama to gameplay. However, in order to alleviate the intense pain of losing a beloved companion, the creation of a special hardcore multiplayer mission to find the rarest materials that can resurrect deceased pets is being considered, but the final decision will be made after carefully gathering input from the audience.
- The world around the game is dynamic to the highest degree. It enables a complete daily cycle, with smooth and authentic transitions from early morning to bright daylight, evening and late night, radically changing the overall atmosphere. Each of the five continents has its own unique climate system that produces a variety of dangerous weather patterns, including heavy rainfall, severe thunderstorms, typhoons and destructive tornadoes. Environments strictly correspond to their biomes. On volcanic islands, players will face scorching heat and frequent lightning strikes, while ocean areas will be dominated by dangerous storms. The combination of changing times of day, unpredictable weather conditions and regional climate characteristics make each location truly dynamic, unique and requires player adaptation.

- The settlement system offers players an impressive freedom of choice, both in the details of their construction and in choosing a specific location to build their base, whether it be a dangerous volcanic peak or a picturesque beach, without strict territorial restrictions. Realizing that the excessive freedom and overload of the interface might scare away newcomers to the survival genre, the developers have carefully implemented a semi-automatic system that allows you to build a good basic house quickly and easily. Experienced players can take advantage of advanced tools to manually design each individual element of a building and create detailed, rigorous arrangements of scenery, light fixtures, and other small objects. The team is very proud that each continent has its own unique visual identity and stunning landscapes, ensuring that building a home anywhere in the world always produces a stunning aesthetic.
- The main philosophical difference between Wild Wild Eden and its genre competitors (particularly Palworld) is its fundamental attitude toward living things. Here, they are no longer positioned as weak-willed slaves, expendable items, or disposable farming tools, but as full and beloved members of the family. The developers are particularly proud of the monster and character designs, because during their careful creation they carefully studied the anatomy, bone structure and natural habits of real animals (an ordinary rabbit is one example). Despite the fantasy nature of these creatures, the strict reliance on real-life pet behavior makes it easier for players to recognize their emotions and form strong emotional bonds with their companions more quickly. The ultimate goal of the creators of this project is that every captured monster becomes a loyal friend, waiting for its owner to return home with undisguised joy, and becomes the most important and indispensable part of the virtual life he creates.
“Wild Wild Eden” will be released in early access in the first quarter of 2027.
