Visionary Realms studio CEO Chris Rowan made a public speech to the MMORPG Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen community, admitting that large-scale updates to the combat system and progression failed. The manager took full responsibility, stating that the project’s technology was not ready for such a difficult task and that management did not notice the problem in time.
As part of a “change in direction,” the studio announced restructuring and layoffs to make way for a new team led by returning producer Robert Crane. The studio intends to overhaul the roadmap, focus on the core mechanics of combat and equipment, and make the development process more transparent in order to regain players’ trust.
Meanwhile, recent reviews of the game on Steam have dropped to “mostly negative.”
