GamesVoice Studio has released the first production diary of the Russian dub for the Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty add-on. In the video, host Alena Andronova talks about the local production process and shows the actors’ first clips of their work. Previously, the dubbing fundraiser ended with a result of 3,032,100 rubles.
According to GamesVoice, Phantom Liberty has approximately 28,000 lines of dialogue and 223 characters. Over 100 characters have been voiced, and we’re not just talking about supporting actors, but extras as well. Recording work began in mid-July and continues to this day. Project complexity is also related to the nonlinearity of addition. In some scenarios, players have as many as eight choices for how events unfold, so each dialogue chain must be tracked and tested individually.
The studio is working to bring back the actors who worked on the Russian dubbing of the main game. The participation of performers Victor Vector, Nix, Josh Kavorkin, Carol Emeka, Wakako Akada, Bestie and Yokastura has been confirmed. Instead, for residents of new areas, new voices are mostly chosen so that familiar actors don’t repeat themselves so often.
The diary also showcases studio recordings and reports on the work of key players. Yegor Vasilyev and Yulia Gorokhova will take the floor again, and Ilya Bradney will return to the role of Johnny Silverhand. In October, it plans to hold an online press conference to show for the first time the game clips of the upcoming Russian-dubbed “Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Freedom”.
