Russian studio Fire & Frost, the creators of the action RPG Ash and Steel, have announced the addition of the story Shattered Faith. It will be released on PC at the same time as the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, but a specific date has not yet been announced.
In Shattered Faith, Tristan travels to the remote corners of the Ash Well with a mysterious expedition in search of ancient artifacts. The hero must follow in the footsteps of the pioneers, find new allies, and gradually uncover the secrets of the island’s past.
One of the major innovations is magic. Tristan will be able to master one of two schools associated with different factions. The Knights of the Seven provide the cleansing fire, while the Free Rifleman harness the power of nature. Spells can be combined with your usual fighting style. The expansion will also introduce new weapon classes and new combat styles, including three combat stances and different types of damage.
Six new locations will expand Grayshaft’s exploration footprint. These include the old port of Greyshaft and the settlement of Horst hidden in the woods. Armed with ancient knowledge, Tristan will be able to move to previously inaccessible areas, enter dungeons and discover new areas of the island. In these places, you’ll encounter banshees, fake tree stumps, and ordinary creatures transformed by the influence of the mysterious filth.
The expansion will also include over 50 random events, new weapons and armor, 12 unique skills, a weapon enchantment system, a card game, and the ability to create your own guild. The developers separately warned that work still needs to be done before Shattered Faith releases, and that the base version of the game will receive at least one additional update containing fixes and improvements.
