The sequel to Lies of P may not take players on Pinocchio’s journey, but to a whole new place – the land of Oz in Lyman Frank Baum’s classic story. The rumor started because Neowiz applied for the Wonders of O trademark. The name is suspiciously reminiscent of The Wizard of Oz and also fits well with the original game’s ending, where the developers left a pretty obvious hint about Dorothy’s appearance.
The studio has yet to officially confirm that Wonders of O is a sequel to Lies of P. However, there have been too many coincidences. Neowiz previously announced development of a sequel, and following the release of the Overture add-on, it’s clear the team is preparing for further development of the universe. Additionally, as early as 2023, the developers directly hinted at a character from the Wizard of Oz story. If the speculation proves correct, we might get a reimagining of The Wizard of Oz in a Souls-like style.
