Game Pass Essential is Microsoft’s lowest-cost service tier and adds new games 3-4 times per year. Typically, subscriptions include games that have been in Ultimate and Premium levels for years, and they stay there for a long time, but not forever.
The Xbox team has added 2 slots to the Game Pass Essential tier. The release of one of these games, No Man’s Sky, became well known over the weekend. Another one added today. As a result, Essential tier subscribers can now play:
- no man’s sky
- theHunter: Call of the Wild
Please note that the Hunter: Call of the Wild game has a separate version in the Microsoft Store – for consoles and PC. Both are now at base level.
It is also worth mentioning that tomorrow, September 15th, 3 games will be deleted from Game Pass Essential immediately. Considering that the cheap subscription version only contains about 60 items, this represents about 5% of the entire catalog of the cheap subscription version. Starting September 16th, you will no longer be able to play with Game Pass Essential in the following regions:
- dead cells
- mental danger
- super threshold
In addition, these 3 games will exit other levels of Game Pass, for a total of 10 items that will be removed from the subscription by the middle of this month.
