Shortly after the release of the Price of Hope add-on, GSC Game World released the next STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl update. Patch 2.0.5 is approximately 8 GB in size on PC and is dedicated to bug fixes, stability, and overall optimization of the game.
Developers fixed NPC and mutant behavior issues, including enemies reacting incorrectly to noise during rain, fog, and thunderstorms. Also fixed are boars freezing during attacks, damage logging from chimeras, jerboa’s psychotic behavior, and various bugs that could cause enemies to hang in the air or change posture after loading.
Numerous changes affecting missions: Bugs that could have hindered progress or caused important events to be missed have been fixed. In addition, performance has been improved in many locations and during large-scale battles, new autosaves have been added, and cutscene, sound, lighting, and weather issues have been fixed.
The patch also adds a snorkel nest at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, as well as a new artifact for the “Light Bulb” anomaly. Individual fixes include overly sensitive controller sticks on PC, the “deadly” stairs at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, and losing aim when switching between shooting modes. GSC Game World specifically warns that problems may occur with modifications after the update.
