Valve has announced the prices for different versions of its Steam Frame VR headset, as well as announced prices for its accessories. Let us remind you that the device can be used independently or through a connected computer to play games.

The base configuration of the Steam Frame with 256 GB of persistent memory costs $1059 or €1049. The company’s version of the device with 1 TB of permanent memory is priced at $1,299 (€1,279). Each Steam Frame VR headset will include a copy of Half-Life: Alyx, a game made specifically for VR. Valve has made the game playable directly on headsets, as well as via streaming on a PC.
As with the Steam Mini PC, there will be a queuing system for those wishing to purchase the Steam Framework, and the first units will be allocated through a lottery. You can apply to purchase selected Steam Frame configurations on September 17th at 10:00 AM Pacific Time (until September 17th at 20:00 Moscow Time). After this period, Valve will randomly rearrange the entry list and notify the buyer via email if they have won or been added to the waiting list. After receiving a Steam Frame purchase offer, users will have 72 hours to place an order.
For the Steam Frame, Valve will offer a replacement accessory kit for $49/€59, including a faceplate, a headband pad, and a standard visor. The VR headset does not include a charging function. However, Valve will sell it separately for $29/€39.
A replacement accessory kit is also available (including 1 face mask, 1 headband pad, and 1 visor), and while the Frame doesn’t come with a USB-C charger, Valve sells one separately. A set of ergonomic accessories will also be available (two controller straps with battery covers, an upper head strap, an enlarged light protection element) for $59 USD/€69.
exist VR headset page Valve also notes that the Steam Frame is compatible with third-party accessories. The list includes the Arcturus Vision camera ($149), with 5K HDR color and spatial video capabilities, and Zenni’s prescription lens add-on.
Let us remind you that the Steam Frame is powered by a 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor coupled with 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM. The earphones feature two LCD screens with a resolution of 2160 × 2160 pixels per eye, support for 72 to 144 Hz update rates, a motion tracking system, a 21.6 Wh battery, support for Wi-Fi 7 (2×2), Bluetooth 5.4, dual speakers in each ear, and two microphones. The device comes with six degrees of freedom (6-DOF) controller and runs on the SteamOS 3 operating system.
