At last BlizzCon, Diablo 5’s developers shared details about the open world’s return to procedural generation, something the studio deliberately abandoned in 2017. Diablo 4. According to executive producer Matt Zitterman, the static world in the final section deprives players of the most important thing – a sense of constant exploration, because the “fog of war” disappears after the first playthrough.

In the new game, events take place in the Western Continent, which is occupied by evil forces. The player’s base will be a mobile caravan, and the locations and dungeons themselves will be reassembled from the tiles with each mission.
