The latest patch for tactical action game SAND brings a long-awaited innovation to fans of the aggressive gameplay style – the “Threat” mechanic. Crews who destroy a sufficient number of Stompers (two in single-player mode, three in other modes) now gain a special hazard status and their vehicle is visible to all players on the map. You can reset this mark by losing all tramplers, successfully evacuating, or using the town hall radio.
The update also affects the matchmaking system, which is designed to protect newcomers from experienced fighters, and corrects some related bugs. The developers note that the new system turns the most dangerous predators into walking targets, and it’s up to the player to decide whether this status will be a source of pride or headache.
