Deadline by Daylight is gearing up for one of the biggest perk changes in a while. In the next PTB, the developers will change 58 perks at once, and at the same time, they will test a messaging system for the first time, allowing survivors to coordinate directly during matches.
Most of the changes are related to the diminishing returns mechanic introduced in the 9.6.0 update. Now, the developers hope to tidy up effects that bypass its limitations and enhance rarely used build options. 26 benefits will be reviewed. For example, “Do No Damage” will grant extended chances on skill rolls and provide a bonus for excellent checks, while “Eliminate” will allow survivors trying to escape after dropping a pallet to be slowed down even more.
Another 23 common perks will receive buffs or effect changes, making them more useful to newcomers while giving them a chance to break into the current version. Nine other perks will also change due to excessive pressure or encouraging unhealthy play styles.
Finally, the Survivor Intent system makes its debut in PTB. Survivors will be able to send each other short preset messages, such as asking to separate from each other or prepare to be rescued from a hook. The system is enabled by default but can be disabled and already provides anti-spam protection and the ability to mute messages. PTB version 10.2.0 was launched on September 15th.
