Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei recently called for slowing down the pace of AI development to improve safety, and executives at rivals OpenAI and SpaceX (xAI) have also expressed support for the issue. The person in charge of Broadcom urged not to exaggerate the threats posed by artificial intelligence, while expressing his belief that artificial intelligence will eventually improve everyone’s living standards.

Broadcom CEO Hock Tan shared his comments on the topic in the channel’s studios CNBChe was invited to participate in the Mad Money program. He said industry talk about the need to slow down artificial intelligence has not shaken his confidence in the industry’s ability to provide Broadcom with continued growth in revenue. “We see that the demand for computing infrastructure, the development of artificial intelligence or advanced artificial intelligence models, and the inference of products delivered to the world will remain very high and hopefully very sustainable.” – The head of the company explained his position.

In early September, Broadcom’s management announced a forecast that the company’s artificial intelligence chip sales revenue will reach US$115 billion in fiscal year 2027, which will double to US$230 billion a year later. It provides customers with customized chips and standard network infrastructure components that are now in demand in data center infrastructure. Tan said Anthropic will become Broadcom’s largest customer by the end of 2027, a position that will last until 2028. All of this makes the latter’s investors nervous amid statements from its management that it needs to slow down the development of artificial intelligence. Historically, Broadcom’s largest artificial intelligence chip customer is Google, which receives its TPU TPU.

“I can’t talk about training, but if you want to do inference, I think the demand is going to continue to be very, very high,” – The person in charge of Broadcom emphasized. At the same time, he acknowledges that any tool needs to develop some kind of safety rules, and in this sense he agrees with his colleagues from Anthropic. “This is not a wild animal that will escape on its own,” ——The head of Broadcom graphically urged the audience not to exaggerate the dangers of artificial intelligence. He believes that generative artificial intelligence will bring many benefits to mankind, just like the industrial revolution that began in the United Kingdom in the 2018th century. “Ultimately, this is still a tool to take our society, our quality of life as a human being, to the next level.” — Tan defends artificial intelligence.
