It’s been more than two years since the last major Windows event. According to The Verge, Microsoft will hold a speech in San Francisco next month to discuss the future of Windows and Surface devices.

The event will be held on October 7th. The company plans to “Discuss how local artificial intelligence will shape the next chapter of PC history”.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Windows and Surface division chief Pavan Davuluri will attend the event. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, who is also expected to attend, said a central theme of the event will be PCs and laptops based on the new RTX Spark Arm platform. If that’s the case, then we should probably expect details about the Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra’s price and release date to be announced in June, as well as information about other manufacturers’ solutions. According to The Verge, Microsoft is unlikely to show off or even touch on the topic of a possible release of the Windows 12 operating system at its upcoming event.
Microsoft’s previous major Windows event was held in May 2024. The company subsequently launched its new Copilot Plus PC based on Arm processors and announced the renewal of its partnership with Qualcomm. The big Windows demo was previously held in June 2021, when Microsoft announced Windows 11 during a live broadcast. The Microsoft San Francisco event will be held on October 7 at 10am PT.
