Action first-person shooter Arena Breakout Infinite has launched its seventh season, Utopia, which features a full-fledged Zombies mode. The developers have also added two options: “Infected Zone” in a PvPvE format and an endless mode suitable for teams of one to four people.
In the “Contaminated Zone”, mutants appeared in farms, valleys and airports. Players face several creatures with different abilities. The Reaper attacks from a distance with caustic goo, the Trap rushes towards its victim and knocks them down, the Fat Man explodes with negative effects, and the Destroyer uses a quick dash and hammer. Some breeds have additional behavioral options. For example, Reaper slime can create acid puddles, swamps, or smoke, while fat explosions can poison, slow, or blind players.
The main enemy in this mode is Phobos. He is a breaker who fights in heavy tactical armor. After taking significant damage, the boss will reset its defenses and return to the fight in a more aggressive state. Raids can also trigger hordes of mutant events, and special missions can access additional loot boxes.
New items have been added to the new mode. Rocket launchers cause cargo to drop, pheromone grenades attract mutants, and healing smoke grenades gradually restore the health of the player inside. Three experimental agents have also emerged that temporarily increase chest health, movement speed, or resistance to critical injuries, but increase the damage done by mutants and their likelihood of being detected.
The second option is called “Endless Zombies Mode” and is designed to survive as long as possible. Teams of up to four players battle in an airport with gradually increasing threat levels. Along with this, the number and strength of mutants also continued to increase. For completing missions and destroying enemies, players earn merits that can be used to develop personal abilities in the mode.
Another major innovation is the live trader. They appear directly during raids, allowing you to sell the loot you find, buy items, and free up inventory space. Transaction volume affects a merchant’s confidence level and reveals additional information about valuables and situations on the map. In Endless Zombies mode, merchants work for zombie tokens and sell supplies and anti-mutant equipment.
The arsenal was replenished with A545 and AK-15SK assault rifles. The first uses the 5.45×39 mm cartridge, has a high rate of fire and has a special muzzle compensator for adjusting lateral recoil. The AK-15SK is a variant of the AK-15 with a folding barrel chambered for 7.62x39mm bullets.
The Mastery system gets three new base options. Acoustic earpads reduce the helmet’s impact on hearing, the tactical belt adds four 1×1 slots for pockets, and hidden compartments give you the chance to find hidden stashes inside certain containers. You can also save multiple of your own skill point allocation options and quickly switch between them.
The developers have redesigned the “Supply Airdrop” mode and updated it to version 2.0. Squad chests and personal chests now expand as your team progresses, regular and hidden terminals appear, and the number of containers and loot in raids increases. The workbench is also equipped with a new research system. Players can find upgrade blueprints in raids, learn special recipes, and gain unique buffs that last throughout the season.
