The KyTyPS5 emulator continues to amaze. A 22-minute video of Demon’s Souls Remastered running at 4K resolution on PC has surfaced online. For a project that until recently was barely producing a few frames per second, this looks impressive – especially considering the game doesn’t actually crash.

Testing was conducted on a system equipped with Ryzen 7 9800X3D and GeForce RTX 4080. At the same time, the processor and graphics card are not fully utilized. Obviously, the main limitation is still not the hardware, but the optimization of the emulator itself and the PlayStation 5’s separate graphics capabilities.

The improvements made by KyTyPS5 are truly noticeable. The emulator already reproduces most graphics fairly accurately, and developers are slowly ironing out critical bugs that previously prevented long launches. In theory, with further optimization, powerful PCs will be able to approach 60 FPS, as current metrics are clearly not limited by the capabilities of an RTX 4080 or Ryzen 7 9800X3D.
