According to Kojima, PlayStation management informed him (and two other studio employees) during a June Zoom call that Physint’s funding would be cancelled. The company has not disclosed the reasons for the decision.
The news shocked the island, forcing the developers to conceal the true situation from staff while they considered their next steps: “I don’t want a repeat of PT’s story. I don’t want them to worry.”.

Physint’s withdrawal of funding could lead to staff layoffs or even the closure of the studio, but Kojima has set his sights on finding new marketing and technology partners for the game – and Xbox is pleased with the presentation of the project.
Despite the publisher’s uncertainty, work on Physint hasn’t stopped, but not much progress has been made – Kojima is still working on the concept, experimenting with mechanics, but hasn’t decided on an engine yet.

Kojima stressed that he holds no grudge against PlayStation and thanked the company for 30 years of cooperation. Administrators don’t know if Physint will be released on consoles for Japanese platform holders: “It’s an Xbox problem”.
According to Bloomberg, PlayStation is not satisfied with the speed and efficiency of Physint’s development and is unwilling to invest. “Hundreds of millions of dollars” Enter another game that won’t be a full-blown exclusive for its consoles.
