As part of the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct 2026 online live broadcast, Firefly Studio showed off a new gameplay trailer for the historical strategy game Fortress 4. The new story-driven RTS returns the series to its roots – medieval England, a period set several years before the events of the original game, relying on a detailed simulation of castle life, realism and a harsh medieval atmosphere.
The story follows Penryn, an ordinary shepherd from Wetel whose life implodes overnight, forcing him to undergo a difficult trial and earn a knighthood. Well-known actors have lent their voices to the project, including Ben Starr, Samantha Bell, Wales Hammond and Harry McIntyre. One of the main features of the game will be the impact of dynamic weather on combat and the economy: heavy rain will reduce range, and snow will slow down crop growth on the largest map in the entire series’ history.
