Let us remind you that Destiny 2 has been falling short of Sony’s (Bundie owner’s) expectations for years, and the “Monuments of Triumph” update released in June was supposed to be the last.
Torkan and Dean acknowledged that Bungie wouldn’t be where it is today without Destiny and its community. Managers name franchises “The foundation of our future” and commit to: “Our fate is not over yet”.
Bungie will first restore deleted content (campaign, raids, locations) in Destiny 2 and improve lighting, combat and other systems, leader promised “New story”.
As for “Marathon,” Torkan and Din said the game is an important part of Bungie’s future, but it is by no means a replacement for “Destiny.” Although the new product did not meet management’s expectations in terms of audience size, they would not give up on the project.
In particular, Bungie will add survival mechanics and improve the combat system, world, competitive and cooperative components. The team also has big plans for Nightfall Refresh in October and Symbiosis in December.
“We still have a lot of work to do to make Bungie healthy, sustainable, and long-lasting. We have full confidence in the studio, the people here, and the games we create. Now we need to prove it.”– Torkan said at the end of the five-minute meeting video message.
