Blizzard has shared new details about its upcoming Diablo 5, which is scheduled to release in spring 2029. At a BlizzCon panel, the developers introduced the game’s first new class – the Plague Knight. According to game director Joe Sheley, this is a heavily armed warrior who is the embodiment of the “walking dead” and will roam the battlefield, spreading deadly diseases and absorbing them to enhance his power.
In addition to Plague Knights, the starting roster will also include returning Demon Hunters and Monks from previous games. The studio’s management has also promised that the game will launch with the largest number of classes in the entire series’ history, although some parts of the community remain skeptical about the scale of innovation compared to previous installments.
