Fable 2 finally Can be played on computer Thanks to the community for creating a project many years after its original release on Xbox 360. The unofficial port is called “Fable 2”-ReXGlue recompile projectstatically recompiles the game’s PowerPC code into C++, allowing the game to run outside of the original hardware.
This project is available at GitHub And, according to the author’s published description, it originally served as Test the possibilities offered by local artificial intelligence and open source tools. The developer explained that he used Qwen 3.8 27B for the first stage of recompiling and got a working version of the game in about an hour. The rest of the work required the lengthy process of manually verifying and correcting the functionality required to complete the adventure.

One of the most interesting new features is 60 fps supportcan be activated through specific options. Alternatively, you can keep the original cap at 30fps or use an uncapped frame rate. The project also includes settings related to gamepad mapping, mouse sensitivity, and some gameplay elements.

“This version introduces a new configuration system, so settings are no longer hard-coded into the program. There are two configuration files where you can change specific options. I’ve also included several patches, some of which are direct copies of the ones Guy made, while others require a little extra work.”
The result, therefore, offers PC users a way to revive one of the most popular chapters in the Fable series, which was originally published on Xbox 360 exclusive. Needless to say, this is an unofficial conversion and is not supported by Microsoft.
The project also launches a few months after the series officially returns with the new Fable, scheduled to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series on February 23, 2027
