A major update for EVE Online’s summer supplement, Cradle of War, is officially released. It brings significant changes to the force projection mechanic and updates content in the New Eden Cluster.
The CCP Games team has provided a detailed analysis of the upcoming changes designed to complicate logistics for large alliances, accelerate rebellion dynamics and massive ship rebalancing.
The free movement of giant fleets is becoming a thing of the past. Ansiblex Gates now consume energy reserves with each jump. Fees will be calculated based on the weight of the ship and distance from the sovereign capital. Additionally, removing bridge-hopping access lists will result in the inability to use other people’s infrastructure, even in large-scale federations.
The mechanics of the rebellion will become more dynamic – its duration will be halved, from 14 days to 7 days. To prevent cartels from dominating specific time zones, the forward base fortification timer has been significantly reduced from 24 hours to 2-4 hours.
The low-end system is getting a long-awaited update. In addition to visually modernized locations, pilots can also expect updates to their opponents’ artificial intelligence—farming will no longer be predictable. Additionally, unlike previous updates that focused on nerfs, Cradle of War will bring buffs to underrated hulls.
The developers encourage players to actively test innovations and share feedback, and pledge to closely monitor how the community adapts to the new reality.
