The Stars Reach development team has released a major update 8.7.0 called Crafted in Color, which greatly expands building and customization options. The game now has a sophisticated surface and finish system that lets you preview textures, colors, and patterns before applying them.
The Fabricator interface now has a dedicated style control panel that allows players to use the eyedropper to copy an object’s design, drag it with a brush, and then reset the settings. An impressive range of new recipes cover the categories of metal, stone, wood, plastic and rubber, and the skill tree has been expanded to include basic, detailed and advanced painting skills. In addition, woodworking systems also open up avenues for decorative patterns, panels and wood grains.
Gameplay has also undergone significant changes. The developers have updated the mission system, introducing multi-stage mission chains, providing event progression options and improved objective logic. The creatures’ artificial intelligence has learned to overcome obstacles and crawl out of holes, and performance monitoring tools have been updated with data on ping and server load. In addition, the game now features a compact team roster, shields for the home terrain, and expanded permissions for the governor robot.
