
A former employee of the British studio has expressed doubts about the prospects of upcoming crime blockbuster Grand Theft Auto 6 on Nintendo’s portable console. Jeremy Hartwick noted in a recent interview that die-hard fans of the series are likely to buy dedicated home systems just for their favorite versions, so developers are less likely to waste resources creating potentially compromised versions.
The expert stressed that moving large virtual worlds to less powerful hardware while maintaining advanced graphics could seriously damage the impression of the channel. At the same time, he admitted that future cloud streaming or mobile device technological capabilities would make it possible to launch such an ambitious project on smartphones, should company management decide to take such a step.
