The Mojang team shared massive plans to develop the hit series during the Minecraft Live 2026 demo. The main surprise was the reveal of the secret location The Sift, which will debut in the upcoming spin-off and become the fourth official dimension in the main game in the project’s entire history in 2027.
The upcoming update will bring rare ice caves with glowing crystals to the sandbox and a new enemy – frozen zombies that can immobilize heroes in combat. In addition, developers are preparing paid sound effects suites for deeply customized gameplay, as well as an expanded suite of tools for content creators, in an attempt to solidify their position in the user-modified market.
