Just about a month after the release of Alien: Fireteam 2, developer Cold Iron Studios is starting to shake up positions. Enad Global 7, the main company that owns Cold Iron, confirmed that it has already carried out layoffs. Therefore, this decision was taken to reduce the studio’s operating costs.
Despite these layoffs, Cold Iron Studios has made it clear that it will continue to support Alien: Fireteam 2. The whole thing still has immediate consequences, as a planned port to Nintendo Switch 2 has been delayed as a result. This version of the game is currently only planned for release in early 2027, but a more specific date was not initially given.
No further details about the layoffs were disclosed. Therefore, it is unclear how many employees are particularly affected and must find new jobs.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 was released on August 25, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S; the game received mixed reviews.
