All owners of the original The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt will be able to access the official remaster tomorrow at lunch time, Moscow time, but today journalists and enthusiasts have started posting feature videos comparing the updated game to the 2015 version. Specifically, comparisons to the then-current generation console versions are also made in the video below, but that doesn’t change the overall picture.

As the test author points out, overall, the remaster is certainly much better than the original Witcher 3 in terms of graphics performance. However, as mentioned above, the new, more saturated and brighter colors and improved lighting system do not apply to all locations: in some cases, and to be fair, they are rare, the atmosphere is somewhat degraded.
By the way, the PC version of the remaster has an additional option – path tracing. Those who have tried the updated press version of The Witcher 3 have received mostly negative reviews. Journalists and bloggers wrote that path tracing caused conflicts with existing character and object models, and sometimes they started to look unnatural.
In any case, looking at the totality of visual changes, what we have before us is certainly the development of a cult project. Considering that all owners of the original game will get the remaster for free, not only is this nothing to complain about, it’s downright sinful.
