Returning on Xbox Series X in late 2025 | JDM: Japanese Drift Master has been released. The game is in active development, and it now has fewer performance issues on consoles than it did at launch. The developers are also responding to player feedback, releasing a major update to the project this week that redesigns the entities.
The developers paid special attention to suspension and handling in the patch. In the game, we improved the transfer of load to the wheels during skids and its effect on the suspension, adjusting the car’s reactions when cornering and regaining traction. The suspension’s rebound rate has also been changed, which should improve the car’s behavior on uneven surfaces.
Additionally, developers redesigned how the car reacts to minor steering adjustments. The patch notes note that these changes are particularly noticeable on rear-heavy models. The studio stresses that the physical update will affect all control options, but owners of steering wheels will notice the changes the most.
In addition to the physical changes listed, a few other changes were made:
- Tire pressure setting has returned to the menu.
- Multiplayer has received a number of fixes – issues showing match participant progress, long nicknames on the final screen and warnings when trying to leave a match have all been fixed.
- Fixed a situation where voting started before all players crossed the finish line.
- Improved navigation of event creation menu.
- Various interface and localization bugs have been fixed.
- For cars, some issues with mirrors, headlights, seats and bodywork have been resolved. This is most evident on the Roebuck Jetstream, Nissan 180SX Type R, Ironvale Hauler F84, Akina Phantom, Nissan Z33 and FSO Polonez.
Additionally, the developers are currently completing work on the painting system, which they plan to implement by the end of the year.
