On October 15, Moscow will host the annual Orion Soft IT Conference. This year, the organizers have chosen a “Big Game” concept for the event: business and technology projects will be built around the game metaphor, and participants will discuss not only technology, but also very practical issues – cost optimization, import substitution, IT infrastructure development, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
“The concept of the Great Game reflects the current reality for IT leaders. Today, infrastructure management resembles a complex strategy, and each choice has its own costs. Companies must balance implementation speed, maintaining system stability, adhering to regulatory requirements and tight budgets. We decided to view this as a step-by-step strategy in order to work with market leaders to identify winning growth strategies and the best ways to overcome the most difficult IT tasks.””, said Maxim Berezin, Director of Business Development at Orionsoft.

A core part of the business plan will be a plenary discussion on “IT Infrastructure Heroes.” Representatives from Greenatom, Bank DOM.RF, AlfaStrakhovanie, SDEK, Lamoda and Orion soft will discuss how IT managers can strike a balance between four key factors: speed of change, business continuity, infrastructure independence and cost reduction. Visually, the design of the event will be in the style of Heroes of Might and Magic 3.
The next session, “Survival: Which Strategies IT Leaders Choose,” will focus on practical lessons learned from switching to Russian software. Representatives of Alfa-Bank, Gazprom Neft, Orion soft and a major company in the financial sector will talk about the results of implementing domestic solutions. Its design is based on the role-playing game Dungeons and Dragons.
The business part will be completed through a series of discussions involving experts from Lenta, PIK, red_mad_robot, Ozon and Positive Technologies. The focus will be on growth strategies, the introduction of artificial intelligence and the development of cybersecurity.
The technical agenda of the conference will be divided into three areas. In the “IT Infrastructure” track, MSTU representatives were named. Northeastern Bauman will share their experience in VMware import substitution. Orion soft experts will discuss new protocols in the zVirt virtualization ecosystem and Termit, and secure code experts will discuss legislative changes relevant to large enterprises.
A separate DevOps track will be dedicated to the practical issues of process optimization. In particular, speakers will look at accelerating projects into production and migrating from legacy architectures. For users of zVirt virtualization, the organizer has specially prepared a zVirt community plan: participants will be able to see a preliminary version of the new version and directly ask questions to experts in the form of an open microphone.
A demonstration laboratory will complement the presentation. In it, visitors will be able to independently test the latest versions of the software in real-life scenarios. This format makes it possible to go beyond demonstrations and directly evaluate the performance of solutions during experiments.
“Orion Software: The Big Game” It is an annual event that brings together hundreds of senior executives and executives from the IT industry. The conference has traditionally stood out for its distinct philosophy, which is present throughout the entire event: from the structure of the agenda and presentations to the design of the website and exclusive merchandise.
