The author of the MMORPG Misa Online has published his third developer diary, in which he shares development progress and new details. We discussed the redesigned warrior movement system, sprint mechanics, market system, new boss Zekaron, and the Dragon’s Breath weapon set.
After the game’s trailer was released in July, the developers received negative feedback regarding the character’s animations. Therefore, it was decided to completely revamp this aspect. For example, for the warrior, two behavior models are provided: outside of combat, the character moves with the weapon hidden behind his back, and after removing the weapon, he switches to a fighting posture that takes into account the weight of two-handed weapons and heavy armor. For both poses, the author created new animations for standing still, running, starting and stopping movement. The developers also redesigned the position of weapons in the hands and added a foot IK system that corrects foot position on uneven surfaces.
The developers are particularly focused on working on the “Dash” skill. When you press the Q key briefly, the character will perform a quick sprint in the direction of movement. When you hold the Q key for two seconds, the character will accumulate charge and perform a long sprint. The direction during preparation can be set using the movement keys or mouse.
The developers expect that “sprint” can be used to avoid the boss’s attack range, or to quickly approach the opponent and continuously carry out combined attacks.
The team also talked about how the trading system in the game will work. Players will be able to set up their own trading posts in their villages and sell items to other users through them. Once a store is placed, the character behind the counter will be replaced by an NPC seller of the corresponding gender, and the store itself will continue to operate even if the store owner is absent. Return to the game to receive your earnings.
Some of the items for sale will be displayed above the shop, allowing other players to see the inventory without opening the shop. There are placement restrictions in the trading area: benches cannot be placed too close, near NPCs, or on stairs. Additionally, transactions will only take place within villages, and store names and descriptions will be filtered.
The developers also touched on the topic of performance and optimization of the game client. In a stress test, they placed 1,000 merchant booths in an area and found that the frame rate drop was almost unnoticeable. As the player approaches, the store will appear: first the store itself and the seller, then the items and information about the store.
Another part of the update is Zekaron, the boss of the desert map. The developers describe him as an ancient guardian forgotten beneath the sand. The creature possesses the head of a jackal, armor decorated with gold, fabric elements, a tattered cloak, and its primary weapon is a curved axe. Zekaron will appear on the desert map at specific times. In combat, he uses sand-related spells and deals high physical damage with weapons.

Finally, the developers showed off the Dragon’s Breath weapon set, which is specifically designed for the Warrior, Draka, Shaman, and Ninja classes. All pieces have a dragon theme: the designs feature patterns such as dragon heads, horns, scales, curves and gold elements. At the same time, each category of weapons has its own silhouette and details.
